Coastal Casual? Business Casual? Cocktail?

Has an invitation to an event ever left you stumped as to what you’re supposed to wear? We’ve all been there at one time or another, but never fear, we’ve got a cheat sheet to help get you ready for your next big event.
The Coast has its own unique vibe, especially when it comes to fashion. As a result, there’s a special category of dress just for the Gulf Coast known as coastal casual. So what does that mean?
The average casual look might be a sundress or casual button-down shirt, but according to Rebecca Fairley, owner of Panache Apparel & Accessories, coastal casual takes into consideration the climate and demeanor of the Coast.
“In our area, lightweight fabrics and layering are
a big part of casual dress,” said Fairley. “Kimono covers and wedges are some perfect pieces for a coastal casual look. They can help to dress an outfit up or down, and can be worn to work and even out afterwards.”
Business dress can often lean one of two ways: casual or formal. While both looks call for a more structured ensemble, there’s a definite divider between the two. Neutral colors are always a great go-to for business dress, but casual looks can be a little more laid back. Skirts, dresses or pants with an open-collar are a great choice. Hems for business looks should be knee-length.
A more formal take on business dress will kick up the look with a dressier top or outfit, and often
