HALF shrimp, half oyster po-boy
Next in popularity are the seafood po-boys with shrimp and oyster being the most craved. If you just can’t make
up your mind, get a half shrimp and half oyster, it’s the best of all worlds. But what do you do if you are not in the mood for a po-boy? Oh, man, let me tell you about the daily specials!
How does shrimp spaghetti with your choice of a green salad, coleslaw or potato salad, red beans and rice and
a fried pork chop, or country fried steak served with homemade mac and cheese and green beans or two fried pork chops served with cheesy au gratin potatoes and baked beans for sound?
These are all examples of the daily specials — all homemade and all delicious. But if you want to go healthy, there are salads too. Take a long look at the chicken salad; it has some great and delicious options.
If you are in the mood for ice cream, Fayard’s has that covered as well, and if your visit is too early in the morning for a po-boy, check out the great breakfast specials.
Keith Fayard runs the butcher shop (another great attraction) and he will custom cut meat for you. The last time I was there I saw some amazing filets and rib eyes. In a day when a real butcher is hard to find, this is a gold mine.
Check out some of the comments on social media. It’s pretty obvious that Fayard’s is a family run business, serious about putting out made-from-scratch food in a friendly environment. So, when nothing else will do but a great po- boy, or a blue-plate special that you’ll think mom made, head to Fayard’s on Popps Ferry Road. You won’t regret it! Just don’t forget the napkins!
