“This fashion show is another way for the Bacot McCarty Foundation to showcase some of the agencies we serve across the Gulf Coast,” said Todd Trenchard, foundation executive director. “At the same time, we are hoping it will help to promote some of our awesome local boutiques, as well as their generosity and philanthropy in helping make the Coast a better place. The monies that they
are helping us raise will go back into our local communities and we are very grateful for their participation.”
The Bacot McCarty Foundation, based in Pascagoula, is a combination of the Bacot Foundation, established by the late Ed Bacot in 1978, and Jolly McCarty, a well known Gulf Coast banker and philanthropist who died in 2003. For the past 16 years, its main fundraising event has been The Jolly, a Friday night party followed by
a weekend golf tournament each May that raises more than $400,000 which, in turn, is distributed to local nonprofit organizations that support youth, education and culture.
“We are fortunate to have the means and logistical support from the IP to be able to put on
a big fashion show like this. The Bacot McCarty Foundation has a great working relationship with these programs, so this meets our goal to give back all over again,” Rasmussen said.
