GAUTIER
A new 8,000-seat outdoor music venue opened in the spring and just released a star-studded concert lineup that includes rock legends, country artists, and pop icons. The Sound Amphitheater in Gautier had its inaugural concert in April featuring KC and the Sunshine Band. Miranda Lambert, Sam Hunt, and Melissa Etheridge along with Jewel are on the lineup for shows through September. The location pairs natural beauty with incredible music to deliver an unforgettable patron experience for the nationally touring shows. The $8 million venue is slated to pull in an economic annual impact of $13 to $15 million.
GULFPORT
The new Coast Transit Authority (CTA) Gulfport Tram Bridge opened in February and features a 1,100-foot tramway and pedestrian bridge providing a safe, direct connection from the CTA Gulfport Transit Center and Mississippi Aquarium across U.S. 90 to Jones Park. In addition to ADA- accessible pedestrian and bicycle traffic, the bridge will accommodate a tram trolley set to run from March through Labor Day.
