Sounds of saws and hammers are sounds of progress around not only the downtown area but throughout the city. Many historic homes have begun being renovated, other older homes are getting a facelift, and two former downtown businesses have been bought and are not far from welcoming guests.
Other projects and activities underway include recreational programs for youth, live entertainment on the waterfront for the whole family, development of Sawmill Landing, and the new “Miracle Mile” frontage road that will parallel Interstate 10 to the north and south offering huge opportunities for commercial development.
Working together, city leaders know that the opportunities are endless!
