Welcome aboard! There’s something so nostalgic about trains, but even today, they remain the backbone of our economy. Right here in Moss Point, Mississippi Export Railroad’s 42-mile short line railroad serves as the connection between the Gulf of Mexico to all points on the continent and beyond. This year, they’re celebrating a big one: 100 years of moving forward and transporting excellence.
Success stories like this are not uncommon in South Mississippi. Our Coastal Commerce special is a celebration of just that – the many thriving businesses, communities, main streets, and chambers that come together as one Coast, all for a common goal. In this section, you’ll hear about the innovations and developments that have been made in 2022, as well as those that have been made in decades past that brought us to where we are today.
In this month’s Dining section, you’ll discover some of our favorite eats and treats! If you’ve not been to Knuckleheads (a personal favorite of mine), you need to add it to your list immediately. I seriously dream about their Mississippi pot roast sandwich. Also in this section, read about Dorothy Roberts’ new restaurant, Roberts Place Café, which I’m excited to go check out for myself, the many amazing dining experiences available at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino,
and learn how to make your very own bacon jam burgers. Sounds delicious, right?
