fresh chives is just too good of an idea to pass up. If you are old school, try one of the five fried baskets, and that includes shrimp, oysters, fish,
chicken, crab claws or a combination. There are 11 choices in the general seafood category, but if you want my advice, go for the fish and grits. This is a combo you most often find offered with shrimp, but Brady’s blackened catfish over Mississippi grown rice grits (rice milled to the consistency of grits), sautéed mushrooms, spinach, diced tomatoes and parmesan cheese is hard to beat.
A real measure of a restaurant is the gumbo they make, and Brady’s is very good indeed. I have long thought that one of the many keys to making good gumbo is to make it in relatively small batches, and Brady’s follows that principle.
In the year that Brady’s has been open, Chad and Steve Brady have earned the respect of the local community, and the word is getting out all along the Coast that if you are in the mood for a cool riverside atmosphere, good food, and thoughtful service, this is the place to come. Come early and check out the full bar as well.
