RAPISCAN SYSTEMS CLASSIC BIRDIES FOR CHARITY RAISES
$467,067
The Rapiscan Systems Classic announced today that the Birdies for Charity fundraising program raised $467,067.25 in 2018 for local charities. The primary goal of the Rapiscan Systems Classic Birdies for Charity Program is
for participating 501(c)3 organizations to successfully solicit and collect donations of $10 or more, or pledges of $.05 or
more based on the
number of birdies
made by the PGA
TOUR Champions
players during the
tournament, which
took place in March
at Fallen Oak Golf Course.
The Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic Foundation covers all administrative costs, and 100 percent of every pledge collected goes directly to the specific charity, plus there is no “risk” or out of pocket expenses.
Charity began on the golf course at the Mississippi Gulf Resort Classic in 2010.
In 2018, the tradition continued with the Rapiscan Systems Classic. Since 2010, more than $2.2 million has been raised for local charities along the Gulf Coast. The Birdies for Charity program is another way for the Rapiscan Systems Classic to give back to the community by helping local charities raise funds for their causes.
Another exciting aspect of the Birdies for Charity program is
the Matching Funds. Participating charities that raise $1,000 or more become eligible to receive a match on every dollar raised. The Matching
Funds is funded by the Rapiscan Systems Classic and various fundraisers held throughout the program.
Bonus Bucks are given to the top four charities raising the most money. In addition, a drawing for $500 Bonus Bucks takes place for the remaining participating charities who raised a minimum of $1,000.
