Andrew C. Burrell, PA is a two-attorney practice located in Gulfport. It was started in 1993 by Andrew Burrell as a solo practice.
Inspired by a former history teacher, Burrell entered the field of law and has spent over 31 years serving his clients. Focusing his practice on personal injury and social security claims, Burrell helps individuals rebuild their lives after suffering an injury or an accident.
Outside of the office, he believes in helping the community. He has
coached boys and girls in both youth baseball and youth softball. In 2009, the practice expanded by adding Shane Whitfield to the
firm. Whitfield specializes in workers compensation claims and family law. A lifelong Mississippi Coast resident, his diverse practice areas allow the firm to better meet the many needs of their clients.
Away from the office, Whitfield stays active with youth sports and fishing. He has spent many years involved with youth baseball and soccer, both coaching and serving on multiple advisory boards.
When a sixth grade teacher pointed out that Brehm T. Bell liked to argue and liked to help people, it was suggested he become a lawyer. He took the advice and went on to graduate from the University of Mississippi School of Law.
“In the beginning, I had a general practice where I handled many types of legal issues,” he says. “It was apparent to me how frustrated people became with insurance claims and I gravitated toward helping those with personal injury cases.”
Bell grew up in Hancock County and worked his way through college and law school as a deckhand. “I like the fact that here on the Coast, you can be the bank president or a deckhand on a tugboat and as long as you work hard with integrity, you are treated with respect,” he said.
He's involved in supporting education, his church, and the community while also serving in local organizations.
Bell and his wife of 36 years enjoy life in Bay St. Louis including spending time with their children and grandchildren, fishing, golfing, and most of all, traveling. “We have a goal of hiking in all 50 states; so far we are about half- way there!”
