All of Scarlet Pearl’s security officers are also required
to be CPR certified. One of the security supervisors, a Nationally Certified Paramedic, conducts training when team members need to be re-certified.
“It is important that we have adequate training for
our officers because we are the first responders on this property,” said Blanton. “We have had several occasions where CPR and AED training had to be utilized. In each one of those incidents, the patron involved was resuscitated and breathing when they were transported off Scarlet Pearl property by emergency services.”
Scarlet Pearl guests are in good hands and have shown their gratitude countless times. “We have had guests buy our department king cakes, cookies and pizza,” Blanton recalled. “Some officers have even received written recognition from guests if the officer made a lasting impression or went above and beyond.”
According to Blanton, it’s all in a day’s work. Scarlet
