The American Heart Association will host its
2018 Mississippi Gulf Coast Heart Gala and live auction on July 26 at the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum from 6 to 9 p.m. This year’s event will honor Roy Anderson, former president and CEO of Roy Anderson Corp.

Anderson became involved with the American Heart Association by participating in the annual Heart Walk with many of the Roy Anderson Corp employees. For him, it was an opportunity for his team to give back to the community and work with other companies on the Gulf Coast to raise money for the awareness and preventive measures in fighting heart disease.
“I’m very honored to be the 2018 Honoree of the Heart Ball,” Anderson said. “While I’m appreciative of being selected, the real focus is the opportunity to raise money on behalf of the American Heart Association, which
does so many important things to build and sustain a healthier community along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and nationally.”
The Heart Ball helps to advance the lifesaving mission of the American Heart Association, which has impacted the lives of thousands of men, women and children in South Mississippi. Contributions received support cardiovascular research, professional and community education, and advocacy efforts. Reservations for the event can be made online or by phone.
