how to perform tasks, but that they connect with the elders on a personal level to best meet their needs. Continued
training provides fresh ideas and innovative ways to
engage with the elders and care for them as individuals.
A unique aspect of the Green House® at Seashore Highlands is that elders are encouraged to participate
in daily tasks as they would have in their own home, ensuring the choice of meals, activities, and engagement are things they desire. For example, house meals are served family-style around a community table where laughter and conversation encourage good nutrition. The delicious meals are cooked in the open kitchen where elders in the home are involved in the food selection, preparation of dishes, setting of the table, or praying over meals.
The large patio areas encourage outdoor activities such
as gardening, exercise and bird watching. A comfortable
hearth area fosters conversation and meaningful
engagement. A critical part of the health and welfare of the elders living at Seashore Highlands is their active involvement in care planning sessions with team members and family members, where the elder’s voice and choice is always at the heart of the conversation.
We invite you to visit us at Seashore Highlands and experience the faith-based, not-for-profit difference today!
