Dr. Crews is a Fellow in the American College of Dentists, International College of Dentist, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU) national dental honorary society, the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Oral Medicine. She is an active member of the Mississippi Dental Association where she served as President of the District V Dental Society of the Gulf Coast.

Q: What is the biggest health issue you see in South Mississippi?
A: Educating the community about the important role oral health plays in the overall health. Often times, chronic illness can be identi ed in the oral cavity or during a dental visit.
Dr. Karen Crews is a general dentist with over 30 years of experience in comprehensive general dentistry at Beach View Family Dental Clinic. Prior to joining Beach View Family Dental Clinic, Dr. Crews was director of the Division of Oral Oncology and Bio-behavioral Medicine in the department of otolaryngology at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. She is also a former assistant dean and professor in the UMMC School of Dentistry and still holds the appointment of Professor Emeritus.

A: My parents, Carl and June Moak. They are entering their ninth decade of life and continue to inspire me to be kind, humble, and the best I can be. And of course my husband Bill who has been there for me every step of the way.
