years. At the same time, each patient has very personal, unique healthcare needs that require around-the-clock care, every day of the year, from a highly skilled workforce that is in short supply.”
He added that it's a privilege to work with more than 300 highly trained physicians and more than 3,000 full time employees which includes more than
1,400 nurses, as well as other ancillary and support staff.
Rogers too points out the rewards of being a healthcare executive. “When individuals find out where I work and what I do, they stop me to give in-depth feedback about their experience at Garden Park,” he said, “and it has been overwhelmingly positive. I get to hear wonderful stories about how we have saved lives and the impact we have on families.”
Rogers is responsible for the 130-
bed, full-service, acute-care hospital, which provides comprehensive services, including an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services such as a 24-hour emergency room, Seasons Behavioral Health Center, Family Birth Center, Level III Trauma Center, Sleep Disorder Clinic, The Wound Healing Center, and more.
At Memorial, Marchand focuses
on strategic planning and executive management. “This includes managing
a complex organizational structure that has many operational priorities. These range from assessing local demand for healthcare services to balancing medical/ surgical advances, medical technology and emerging pharmaceutical solutions with the increasing regulatory environment at the Federal and state level,” he said.
When he entered the healthcare field, Rogers created a simple philosophy that still guides him. “I am here to heal people. I may not have a clinical background but my goal is to ensure that we heal our patients to the best of our ability in an environment that is conducive to doing so,” he said. “That is the guiding principle that I work to instill in my team.”
