Having fun and meeting new
friends is what it’s all about
rom coast to coast, cycling is quickly gaining popularity not just as a means of commuting, but recreationally as well. In fact, according to a 2016 study by the Outdoor Industry Foundation, bicycling is the second most popular outdoor activity among youth in America and the fourth
most popular for adults.
When it comes to outdoor trends on the Mississippi Gulf
Coast, there’s no denying that biking is one of the top activities. With beautiful greenway for miles and trails of all lengths, it’s no wonder it’s become so popular! Chances are, you’ve even seen some group cyclists out and about as you drive along.
Aside from the scenery, the Coast offers some outstanding cycling groups. The best part? They’re open to anyone, and suited for riders of all experience levels.
Bike Biloxi is a group cycling ride that began five years
ago. “That’s when cycling really started kicking off here on the Coast,” Kay Miller, Biloxi Main Street executive director, said. “We meet at 6 p.m. on the third Tuesday of every month at the Biloxi Civic Center, and we ride for about 6.7 miles. After our ride, we’ll often stop downtown for dinner or
