THE BLIND TIGER
If you’re looking for a family friendly beach bar with great food and atmosphere, The Blind Tiger is the ticket. With locations in Bay St. Louis and Biloxi, both restaurants have menus that include tacos, burgers, shrimp and fresh fish.
With views of the water, The Blind Tiger locations have
a relaxing Caribbean islands vibe. That influence comes from the Bahamas and other Caribbean islands where owner/chef Thomas Genin loves to travel. “I like the casual bars, open air, laid-back feeling and the good food found in little out-of-the-way places there,” he said. “So, I conceived a restaurant where you can have the same type of experience without the travel time and expense of going to the islands.”
Bay St. Louis Blind Tiger general manager Libby Sudduth says, “We have wonderful Bushwhackers, outdoor seating with amazing views and live music on weekends.”
Fresh ingredients are important to Genin, who studied under chef Emeril Lagasse. True to that concept, The Blind Tiger restaurants don’t have freezers. For instance, French fries are cut from fresh potatoes each morning and burgers are handmade. With the focus
on fresh, quality foods, every offering is guaranteed to impress.
“The menu changes daily to reflect what’s available. Aside from daily specials, The Blind Tiger also offers several staple items including fresh fish sandwiches. When available, royal reds are consistently the most popular item,” Genin said.
If you’re not sure what to order, check out the specials on brightly colored chalkboards that adorn the walls.
