rooms — colorful rugs scattered about.
There’s a small back deck where Rogers enjoys the
peaceful setting that’s conducive to reading and morning coffee while seated in one of the vintage turquoise lawn chairs.
Being a Bay St. Louis resident seems right for Rogers
who’s come to the Coast all her life. She recalls when
the only route from New Orleans to the Bay was along Highway 90 and often included a stop at the White Kitchen for seafood. “I know the area,” she said.
Early on she was a therapist and later taught at Dominican College, an all-girls school that is now a part of Loyola. After earning a law degree, her first job was in a large law firm’s Admiralty and Maritime section where she was the only female among 27 men.
She says an accident and brain surgery in 2015 changed her life, leading to the decision to slow down and absorb the laid-back lifestyle of coastal Mississippi.
