“I’ve tried to think of everything to make sure guests have a perfect stay in our town,” Moon said. “Whether it’s a vacation or a staycation, the experience should be good.”
There’s a mix of dining choices with fresh seafood leading the way. Look for specials such as Trapani’s recent Oyster Thursdays and entree specials at 200 North Beach, the Sycamore House and Ole Cuevas Bistro to name a few.
The Depot District has a picturesque park and duck pond along with the historic restored depot, the Alice Moseley Folk Art & Antique Museum
and the Hancock County Mardi Gras Museum just a short drive from the main Old Town shopping area. A little farther by car are Buccaneer State Park, the state-of-the-art Infinity Science Center and two casinos with gaming and fine dining.
“So often we don’t take vacations for so many reasons, but if you just look right in your own backyard, you won’t have any more excuses because it’s close by, relaxing, fun and affordable,” said Tish Williams, executive director of the Hancock Chamber of Commerce. “There is something to do every weekend from festivals to fishing tournaments. Or, if you just want to relax and take in our pristine beaches, you only have to cross the two lane Beach Boulevard Scenic By-way to
get there. “They don’t call us one of America’s coolest towns for nothing,”
