Museums are plentiful and run the gamut of themes on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The museums are large and small and satisfy a plethora of interests. Any time is a good time to visit because there are various events, speakers and changing exhibits.
The two largest museums, the Ohr-O’Keefe Museum of Art and the Walter Anderson Museum of Art, pay homage to the talents of renowned local artists. They feature changing exhibits along with the permanent collections of their namesake artists, and attract visitors from far and wide. Another large museum, the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum, celebrates the rich
history of the Coast with entertaining and informative displays. Smaller museums also o er a wealth of information and bring
the area’s history to life. These include the Scranton Nature Center in Pascagoula, the Pascagoula River Audubon Center
in Moss Point, Mardi Gras museums in Biloxi, Beauvoir – The Je erson Davis Home and Presidential Library in Biloxi and Bay St. Louis, the G.I. Museum in Ocean Springs, the In nity Science Center in Hancock County, and the Biloxi Fire Museum to name a few.
