There is something absolutely magical about a café. Maybe it’s the casual atmosphere? It’s relaxing and warm and inviting. Maybe it’s the food? Something effortless, but clean and fresh and filling. Maybe it’s the coffee? Who doesn’t love to relax over a warm cup of coffee? Whether you are looking for the perfect place to sit alone and read or you want a cozy spot
to catch up with friends, a café is almost always the go-to. If you are looking for one of the best, look no further than the Mockingbird Café in downtown Bay St. Louis.
I love the Mockingbird menu because it has just the right amount of everything. Breakfast, brunch, and lunch are in full effect daily, perfectly topped off with the most delicious libations. Dive right in
with a Biscuit Board, because who doesn’t love an entire board piled high with hot, from-scratch biscuits? Just one or just 20 or somewhere in between, the Mockingbird buttermilk drop biscuits are stellar and very reminiscent of grandma’s. Accompanied by whipped honey butter and an assortment of housemade jams, this is the absolute perfect way to start any day.
The Yogurt Parfait piled high with fresh
fruit, Greek yogurt, and house granola was a personal favorite and is a great healthy option. If you want a little more variety, the Hashrown Bowl is a hearty choice of diced potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and the most amazing house curry seasoning you can find, with bacon, cheddar and a fried egg topping this incredible breakfast creation. If you want super over-the-top, the Second Street Sandwich is a must-try. Featuring housemade patty sausage, egg and cheese on a Belgian Waffle “bun”,
this is the breakfast sandwich to end all breakfast sandwiches!
Lunch at Mockingbird is just as amazing as breakfast. The Scout or The Atticus are both yummy turkey sandwich choices boasting their own unique flavors from
an ancho chili aioli to a cranberry orange mustard. A crowd favorite is the Summer Garden Burger and I’ll be the first to say, it’s not just for those that want to opt out
of a traditional meat burger. Chickpeas, black beans, and fresh veggies are perfectly seasoned and ground together making one amazing vegetarian patty. Topped with all your typical favorites, crowned with roasted red pepper aioli and nestled in a warm cheddar jalapeño bun, this is an amazing
