I have young children and know that one day they will ultimately leave me for their own path in life. As parents, we want our children to grow, evolve, and eventually leave the nest.. but do we really? I tell my girls every day that they will live with us forever and that they will have to take care of their father and me. I don’t necessarily want to force them. I’m also not ruling it out.
But instead of imposing myself on my children, I could attempt to be a little sneaky about it. Manipulation is something we do as parents, right? So I’ve decided
I might eventually take a page out of the coolest playbook around and follow in the footsteps of one of my newest role models, Theresa Banh, owner of Snow and Boba in Ocean Springs.
Theresa and her husband and co- owner, Tai, wanted a place that would be appealing to their children. A place where kids would want to come and hang out
with their friends. And, unwittingly, hang out with Theresa and Tai. They knew that opening their own boba tea café would be the perfect way to spend time with their kids, their friends, and their community. From this genuine parental desire for quality time Snow and Boba was born, and it is hands down killing it on every level.
Boba teas aren’t necessarily a new
trend, but a trend that the Gulf Coast
has embraced with full force. Deliciously brewed black, green, or oolong teas
serve as the base for these deliciously fun drinks that come in a variety of styles and combinations. Tapioca pearls or bobas are the fun little surprises served with most drinks, along with an assortment of jellies, fruit pieces, and the oh-so-fun popping boba.
The Crème Brûlée with Boba is a crowd favorite that features a house made sea salt foam. The Matcha Latte with Crystal Boba is my favorite and is everything delicious
