Seventy-five Coast residents have been nominated for this year's One Coast Awards, according to Adele Lyons, CEO of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chamber of Commerce, Inc. The event will be held on April 16 at 8 a.m. at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino.
“We have an outstanding group of nominees representing different professions and Coast communities,” Lyons said. “We present these awards in conjunction with the Hancock Chamber of Commerce, Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce, and Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.”
The One Coast Awards are the re-branding of the former Roland Weeks Hall of Fame, the Sun Herald Top 10 Under 40 and Community Leader Awards. Awards were established to recognize community leaders and strong, up- and-coming young business leaders.
“Roland Weeks has been advocating the need for vision and community for more than four decades in an effort
to bring everyone together,” Lyons said. “The One Coast Awards were created to continue the ideal that One Coast is a regional belief and that our common interests far outweigh any differences; an awareness that what benefits one, ultimately benefits all; a celebration of our unique communities and an attitude of no boundaries.”

Butch Oustalet Foundation to Hold Inaugural Fundraiser

The Butch Oustalet Foundation is holding its inaugural fundraiser on Saturday, May
4 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Chimneys in Gulfport. Participants can watch the Kentucky Derby while enjoying the gulf breezes, and sipping mint juleps beneath the majestic oaks at the “Get Down & Derby!” event that’s for a great cause.
The foundation's legacy partners, a generous group
of community leaders who have joined forces to make a greater impact and ensure the flourishing of the community for future generations, will also be honored.
All proceeds will benefit the Home of Grace Addiction Recovery Center, an organization that’s very close to Mr. Oustalet’s heart.
