The kitchen is a visual delight. There are original
open wall shelves that Jamie has backed with a owered wallpaper in blue, bead board painted gray, and a backsplash of gray and white tiles. The sink is a berglass reproduction of an old deep sink style. The cabinet below the sink has fabric inserts for doors. Other cabinets are new but blend perfectly with the elements of the room. There’s also a center island with a repurposed wood top.
It’s easy to see why the spacious screened porch on the back of the house is used a lot for parties. It has all the creature comforts and is adjacent to an outdoor kitchen. Here, as in all the home’s spaces, the family’s personality infuses everything with charm.
Jamie notes that they did replace the home’s ooring but all the doors – di erent heights throughout – and
glass doorknobs are original. The doors are
painted a smart black. Typical of a house
of this era, the home had very little storage and the Cervis have added some for modern living.
