The front facade of the Gulfport home of Rainna Bahadur and Vernon Beemon
is elegant and stately with stone and stucco, a formal fountain, symmetrical palm trees and a massive front door. Inside, the elegant beauty continues in
the 6,000-square-foot Mediterranean style home, but the atmosphere is all about family life and comfort.
Bahadur, an ophthalmologist, and her husband Beemon, a dentist, settled into the home in June 2016 with their children, Sohni, 9, and Devin,
11. Their lives are busy with professional duties, school and children’s activities — making home a refuge. “We have stressful jobs and home is truly our oasis,” Bahadur says. “In general we weren’t
looking for this color scheme, but I like a clean color palette and these soft colors evolved.”
She adds that the gray, taupe, cream and white colors are calm and restful. The gorgeous, expansive water view adds to the home’s tranquility. “The view of the water had a lot to do with the attraction of this house when we looked at it,” she said.
The interior living space blends seamlessly
with the covered outdoor living area, screened-
in swimming pool and lawn leading to the boat dock and beckoning bayou. Large sliding windows retract to fuse the two areas. Outside, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area and sitting area complete with built-in flat screen TV. All together, it’s a perfect scene for entertaining. >>
