MARCHING INTO SPRING
The month of March sends us tiptoeing, skipping, then outright marching into spring. There’s nothing quite like the promise of sunny
skies, breezy afternoons, and outdoor activities to whet the fashionista’s pent-up shopping appetite. A panorama of color, soft fabrics, mini, midi, and maxi hemlines, and slightly provocative designs combine to welcome and accommodate the slowly rising temperatures.
BOLD COLOR,
MONOCHROMATIC SCHEMES
Statement pieces, whether they be items of clothing, shoes, jewelry, or handbags, take center stage; but it’s their bold color that turns heads and steals the show. Spring ’22 colors that pack a definite fashion punch are cerulean blue, hot orange, hot pink, lemon-lime, canary yellow and kelly green. And then there’s a mustard hue that unexpectedly and beautifully jumps into the color lineup along with interesting perspectives on purple from bright right down to a somewhat lighter but delicious shade of lilac.
Monochromatic ensembles are all the rage, but a fun way to give them an edge is with a contrasting pop of shoe or handbag color like royal blue with an orange outfit or black with any single bright color.
Though they play a background role this season, pastels remain an important ingredient for Spring and never shall become wardrobe passé. Pearl grey, blush, sky blue and nude hues are here, there, and everywhere. Use them like back-up singers to support the star of the show.
