Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort is asking guests if they love pizza — and after eating at Ami Pizza?, there is no doubt the answer is yes. Italian for “Do You Love Pizza?,” Ami Pizza? is one of the resort’s two new eateries. Adjacent to the open-air pizza restaurant is Lounge Nocherie, a perfect stop for something sweet or a cup of fresh-brewed coffee.
Ami Pizza? cooks each pie to crispy perfection in a dual-capacity wood and gas oven. After ordering at the counter, it takes just minutes for
the pizza to cook. Pizzas come in 10-inch and 15-inch sizes, and there are artisan red and white sauce pies
to enjoy. Or, create your own using a number of select, premium (roast chicken, Berkshire pork pepperoni) and ultra-premium (lobster, prosciutto) toppings.
After considering the nearly one dozen pies on the menu, we went for the popular frutti di mare (seafood) pizza, which we had with a white, Alfredo sauce. This pizza, quickly becoming a Gulf Coast favorite, is covered in seafood, with big pieces of lobster, shrimp and crabmeat joining tomatoes and fresh mozzarella, fontina and Parmigiano Reggiano cheeses. Add basil, garlic and olive oil, and this is one delicious pie.
