CELEBRATES PLATINUM ANNIVERSARY
story by Lori Beth Susman photo by Tommy Triplett
Beau Rivage opened its doors on March 16, 1999. Now, 20 years later,
a platinum celebration is planned
for the anniversary. While the entire month is filled with top headliners, exciting casino promotions and even
a signature cocktail, the highlight of the celebration takes place Saturday, March 16, at MGM Park, with family fun, live entertainment and a fireworks show by the world-renowned Grucci Brothers.
“Beau Rivage is proud of the role
it has played in the Mississippi
Gulf Coast’s tourism development, economic growth and quality of life over the past 20 years, and we look forward to the next 20,” said Beau Rivage CFO Paul Heard, who has been with the company since its opening. “As Biloxi’s largest private sector employer for 20 straight years and having a scheduled charter program that flies guests in from more than 80 cities throughout the country, MGM
is committed to the Mississippi Gulf Coast market and continues to focus on the guest experience and driving more visitors to the region.”
Set for St. Patrick’s weekend, the March 16 celebration includes a full
slate of free activities. Start the day with Biloxi’s annual Grillin’ on the Green, enjoy the St. Patrick’s Day parade through downtown Biloxi and then head to MGM Park, where the fun starts 5 p.m. with bounce houses and other activities for families.
At 6 p.m., the high-energy party band Unfazed takes the stage inside the park. Gov. Phil Bryant, Biloxi Mayor “FoFo” Gilich and other dignitaries will be on hand to welcome guests before the celebration’s finale, an extravagant fireworks display that will transform the night sky at 7:30 p.m.
Anniversary casino promotions include a giveaway featuring up to $150,000 in prizes, including FreePlay and TablePlay, three $20,000 cash prizes and a Ford F-150 Platinum truck. Also through March 16, a swipe-and-earn promotion will award players a commemorative 20th anniversary T-shirt or Mardi Gras beads.
And no celebration is complete without a signature cocktail. A special 20s Old Fashioned will be offered in EIGHT75, Jia, Stalla and BR Prime throughout March.
