This level also includes a kitchenette, guest bath and multiple built-in bed areas for guests with children. In what was previously attic space there is now additional storage and a craft room for Kim.
From the top level of the home, you can get
a glimpse of the motor court with an inset nautical star — a nod to Brandon’s commercial diving and offshore workboat business. Along the side of the house is another driveway, which leads to two 3-car garages and a personal gym. Looking directly down the driveway, you can catch the beautiful view of the water through an archway of oak trees.
To the rear of the house is what is arguably the most breathtaking feature of the home. The outdoor area off the back sunroom is complete with a waterfall edge pool and outdoor kitchen as well as a fire pit and pier along the water’s edge. The outdoor kitchen area is ideal for entertaining and is truly a fully-functioning kitchen on par with any indoor kitchen around. A seating area and
hidden flat screen TV are great for parties.
While the main home was part of the original property, this outdoor area and the garages and gym were all later additions. Not that you’d be able to tell, as each element not only matches the understated Greek Revival design of the residence, but is precisely situated to suit the natural landscape. “It’s all about enhancing the house’s position rather than obstructing the views,” Bowden commented. “The way the out buildings and the main structure work together to create outdoor rooms and set each other up in the landscape was the most successful component of the design.”
