The Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art welcomes guests to attend an evening of food and art featuring restaurateur Robert St. John and water color artist Wyatt Waters. Palate to Palette will take place on March 8 at the Mississippi Sound Welcome Center from 6-9 p.m.
“St. John and Waters will be promoting their fourth collaborative cookbook together, A Mississippi Palate: Heritage Cuisine and Watercolors of Home,” said Ohr O’Keefe Museum of Art Marketing and Public Relations Director Natalea Thomson. “St. John will lead a cooking demonstration, pulling delectable Southern classics straight from his cookbook, while Waters paints an inspired, ludic piece to be auctioned off that night.”
Students from Gulfport High School’s culinary program will be on hand to bus and serve the food prepared by St. John
while audiovisual students film the event. The evening’s menu includes seafood gumbo, salad, Pass Christian crab cakes with crab stuffing, surf ‘n’ turf with grits and a white chocolate bread pudding.
Tickets for the event are available online or by phone for $50. Sponsorship tables are also available.

we will have a featured artist who will create a one-of-a-kind piece of art to be auctioned live by auctioneer Wendy Swetman,” event chairperson Ginger Norton said.
The Gulfport High School Jazz Ensemble will play for dancing and dinner will be served. A photo booth will be available along with premium silent auction items.
Norton and CASA Executive Director Jeannie Herrin pointed out that Coast mayors were paired with artists for last year’s fundraiser.
“We will use another group of local professionals next year to get more people involved,” Herrin said.
CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) are trained volunteers who work with victims of child abuse and neglect, providing a voice for these children. Harrison County leads the state in the number of evidenced children.
