T he Pink Rooster/Gallery Garbo is the result of one
determined woman who restored an aging house in the heart of downtown Ocean
Springs, and opened a fine art gallery. Owner Linda Garbo Rosetti described her connection to the 100-year-old home as a love affair meant to be.
She discovered the house five years ago, and was able to purchase it even though it wasn’t on the market.

“There are many choices in life and this beautiful old building has chosen me to spend our precious senior years together. I am truly honored to have this opportunity,” she said. “I was able to buy it mainly because the owner saw what love and passion I had for the building and the community.”
Today, the fully restored The Pink Rooster/Gallery Garbo encompasses almost 3,000 square feet of space. Every room represents original art
by local, national and international painters, a wide selection of wheel thrown and hand sculpted pottery, one-of-a kind jewelry creations, hand painted glass wear and custom made special event clothing. There are 12 potters, 16 artists who make jewelry, more than 30 artists who paint, four glass designers and a variety of textile artisans.
“They say surround yourself with things you love, and that’s what
I’ve done. I am honored to have the opportunity to represent in my gallery artists whom I admire,” Rosetti said.
She is pleased with the many out-of- town visitors who stop by the gallery. Some are becoming repeat customers. What she wants to see more of are local people shopping the downtown businesses.
