Many Gulf Coast foodies have fond memories of the Old Cuevas Bistro and a sad place in their hearts about this classic Gulf Coast restaurant’s demise in a 2014 fire. It was charming and
the food was good. That’s why diners came from far and wide. It’s exciting to report that the Old Cuevas Bistro has reopened with all of its charm and a revised, super hot menu in a fantastic Bay St. Louis location. You’re going to be enchanted all over again when you walk into Chef Cassandra Timmons’ new place.
There’s a small market just inside the front door in case you’re in a hurry and want to buy a salad to go, or a delicious pastry, or even a whole cake. But hopefully this is not why you’ve come here. Take your time and look around. See the beautiful varnished bar? It’s made of heart pine salvaged from the old place, along with a few sections of the old flooring handsomely placed on the walls. Now pick a table, take a seat, and dive into that menu.
