or Cathy Reed and Dianne Murray, the family of William Paul Shelton, jewelry is more than just a sparkling
legacy business. It’s an endless family dedication that spans three generations and almost a century of supporting couples as they begin their lives together.
“When selling jewelry, we are also selling trust that each piece will be high quality that lasts and lasts,” said Reed, an owner of W.P. Shelton Jewelers and Shelton’s daughter.
The jewelry shop was founded in 1945 by its namesake and has been a Gulf Coast fixture for the last 79
years. Shelton discovered he had a knack for jewelry making after he cultivated the skills to repair airplane instrument panels during World War II, and the rest quickly became a historic family legacy.
Nestled in the quaint, but bustling Ocean Springs downtown, W.P. Shelton Jewelers has thrived and
succeeded for decades through hallmarks of honesty, integrity, and commitment to unmatched quality
and craftsmanship with engagement rings, wedding bands, bridal sets, and other jewelry.
Murray, who is W.P. Shelton’s granddaughter and also an owner, assists customers on the design side of the business helping to create one-of-a-kind wearable art while instilling trust and a little magic
in each new piece.
“We help make the dreams and visions come
to reality with jewelry that can be handed down through generations,” Murray said. “The longevity of our business shows that the community supports our high standards and
quality customer service.”
