Christian, Rachel Bond knows how to enhance any special occasion with owers.
She recently faced the challenge of making a table skirt exclusively out of owers.
“The bride wanted some over-the- top elements, and the cake table needed to be a focal point in the room. She really wanted something di erent,” Bond said.
When pondering the materials to use, Bond said she knew that chicken wire would not be strong enough as the frame.
“Our garden center has animals and the animal pens are made from black coated wire. I knew that would work,” she said.
The wire was painted white, and she wove hundreds of white hydrangeas and roses into the grid. The nal high end touch was the placement of Phalaenopsis Orchids that had come from Thailand.
Other challenges Bond met this past year were designing for weddings that had been scaled down because of the pandemic. She created moon gates and dramatic owered arches as focal points for smaller venues.
