There are plenty
of exciting and interesting jobs on the Coast, and WXXV
News 25’s Jaylon Morris is ready to try them all with his franchise segment “In Your
Shoes.”
This biweekly piece puts Morris
in the position to learn about numerous occupations. He already has a number of jobs under his belt, including a ride along with the Biloxi Police Department, getting into a stinky but awesome situation with Waste Pro Management, volunteering at the Jackson
County Animal Shelter, becoming
a dentist for a day at South Mississippi Smiles, taking a couple of body slams over at Diamond Championship Wrestling, and so much more.
Morris thrives on the many challenges and obstacles of each position, and has a new level of respect for the employees after spending a day on the job. “It lets me into their world,” Morris said. “Instead of being one of those people blabbering on about how easy another person’s job may be, I get to experience their field first
hand and see their daily struggles for a few hours, and showcase them for those living in South Mississippi.”
This year, Morris looks to take on bigger and better tasks to entertain and educate the viewers. He plans on tackling jobs such as a ballet instructor; working at some of his favorites restaurants on the Coast, Cajun’s Fabulous Fried Chicken and a local Waffle House; and becoming a firefighter for a day among other interesting occupations.
Morris says that for the most part, he tries to leave his next tasks in the hands of the viewers. He’s game for just about anything except dealing with snakes. “But if it’s what the people want, there’s a chance I could have a change of heart,” he joked.
