The Gulf of Mexico Alliance (the Alliance), has launched Embrace the Gulf 2020, a daily awareness campaign highlighting the value and vitality of the world’s ninth largest body of water. The goal
of the campaign is to promote
the sustainability, beauty, and productivity of the Gulf of
Mexico. A series of more than 366 informative messages, sponsored
by Clean Gulf Associates, is being shared across multiple platforms to support the  ve focus areas of the Embrace the Gulf 2020 Campaign: resilient coastal communities, prosperous industries, superior educational opportunities, thriving
tourism, and healthy ecosystems. Clean Gulf Associates, Inc. (Clean
Gulf) is a not-for-pro t cooperative that provides expert support in the mitigation of marine incidents and protecting natural resources. Clean Gulf will play a crucial role in the campaign by underpinning the social media marketing necessary to spread the message of Embrace the Gulf 2020.
“In today’s digital world, nearly everyone gets their information from the internet,” says Laura Bowie, the Alliance’s executive director. “Many, especially younger generations, are connecting on all levels through social media. Clean
Gulf’s support is crucial for the positive messaging about the Gulf of Mexico to go through these channels.”
Alliance partners in the  ve Gulf states have started the year long events and activities designed to celebrate the Gulf. Clean Gulf has a network of members who provide a new avenue and opportunity to “Embrace the Gulf of Mexico in 2020.”
