is live painting. Kimberly and Kade Winborn, who said “I do”
in August, hired an artist to capture their first kiss as man and wife. “Our guests loved to see her in action, and the best part of all is that we got to take the painting home that night,” Kimberly said. “It was the first piece of art we hung in our new home,
and looking at it every day on our wall reminds us of our special day!”
Couples are also incorporating personalized signs, often attached to walls of greenery, to decorate their venue. Both the Days and the Winborns capitalized on this greenery trend and used it to create a garden scene that also doubled as a backdrop for photos.
Couples incorporate all of these personal touches because they want their wedding to become memorable for their guests. They want the wedding to become an experience. These experiences take different forms, but the Winborns chose to include a photo booth at their reception. Kimberly said, “Our photo booth company printed out a photo for each guest as a souvenir and made a scrapbook for us to look at and enjoy, which I thought was a special touch.”
They also capitalized on the late night food trend to make sure none of their guests went home hungry. Their reception featured a late night burger bar so guests could refuel after the night of celebration.
As for the Days, they wanted their guests on the dance floor. The couple handed out dance floor props to get the party started. “We got these foam glow sticks and necklaces to pass around
so they lit up all over the dance floor. It was so much fun,” remembered Maggie.
Although wedding trends come and go, it is clear that the move toward personalization and experience encourages couples to have fun and enjoy one of the most important days of their lives. Hopefully, these trends are here to stay.
