Don’ts:
FOOD
This is probably the biggest don’t on the list. Having professional caterers and bakers is essential because not only can you count on them to do the job right, but they are trained in food safety. “Not all vendors have the proper credentials, such as a Mississippi Department of Health license,” says Faren Knowles of Melissa’s Bakery. “Wedding cakes are a large investment and should be approached as such.”
FLOWERS
Flowers go bad after a time, which makes
them a last-minute item. Doing your own arrangements could be disastrous if you don’t know what you’re doing, leading to flowers that have died before the wedding, wholesale flowers that don’t arrive in time and extra stress on the wedding day. Florists can help you to be cost- effective by ordering flowers that are in season at the time of your wedding.
PHOTOS
It’s doubtful that you’ll take your own photos, but some opt to have an inexperienced friend
or family member take them to save money. The problem with this is that if they don’t turn out, there’s no way to go back and retake them.
