ROMANCE & WEDDIN&G costly tips What to Buy
What to DIY
story by Kelsey Sunderman-Foster
Weddings can be expensive, and you may be leaning towards DIY options to help cut some costs. There are definitely some things you can do on your own to save money, but some things are best left to the experts. Here are a few dos and don’ts when it comes to your big day.
Dos:
DECOR
Making your own centerpieces or signage is a great way to save money; just be sure to plan ahead! Some of these projects may take longer than you think, and you don’t want to be under a time crunch to get things done before the wedding.
PAPER ITEMS
DIY invitations, ceremony programs, menus or name cards are affordable and pretty easy to do if you’ve got the time (and good handwriting). Some brides choose to have stamps made that help to make the process a little quicker and cleaner.
FAVORS
Many brides and grooms give out their favorite candies or snacks as favors, which is not only cost-effective but personal as well. If you’re really crafty, consider making coasters or candles to commemorate your day.
