ROMANCE & WEDDING historic beachfront Weddings To Remember

M ost brides would agree that their wedding day is one of the most special days of their lives. In
all the hustle and bustle, one thing is for certain: the venue sets the stage for the occasion.
One of the Coast’s most notably “coastal” locations is Historic Grasslawn, a beachfront mansion rich with Southern Charm. From the wrap-around porches to the majestic oaks and ocean views, Grasslawn has made a name for itself as a unique and romantic wedding venue.
The original two-story Antebellum home was built in 1836, and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972. In 2005, the home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. After much deliberation, the mansion was rebuilt by city officials and designated as a Mississippi Landmark. Since the home was completed and dedicated in July of 2012, it has been the site of many city events, weddings, receptions and parties.
Grasslawn is an all inclusive
venue which makes weddings
there hassle-free. With the help of manager and catering director Hollie Larkins and wedding and event coordinator Debra Hodge, brides
can create their dream wedding at
an affordable price. The two make up Grasslawn’s wedding team and handle everything from coordinating with local vendors to event setup and catering.
In 2013 the Stinson Group became the manager for the property, expanding the site’s catering abilities with creative culinary offerings from Catering Creations LLC. While you may recognize the Stinson Group for its amazing Italian fare at Salute Italian Restaurant, Catering Creations offers menus from a variety of cuisines.
It’s the attention to detail that sets weddings at Grasslawn apart.
Larkins and Hodge have created weddings of all styles and themes. From beach weddings to Fourth of July weddings and jazz brunches, no vision is impossible to create.
Darlene Breland Rountree is one of many brides who had an amazing wedding experience at the historic mansion. “I had the wedding of my dreams and married the man of my dreams at Grasslawn,” she said. “Debra was my amazing coordinator and I couldn’t have done it without her. Thank you to Hollie and all
of the staff who were involved.
I’ve heard nothing but beautiful comments about our beautiful day!”
