mishaps

Ask any bride about her wedding day and she’s sure to recount each wonderful moment. After dreaming of her wedding day for years, every bride has a vision of what the day will be like, but sometimes a few surprises arise. From stumbling over the vows to struggling to put on the rings, the little mishaps of a wedding can be just as special to the bride and groom as the marriage itself.
I slipped
As mishaps go, Veronica and Chris Romano had one during their wedding festivities on May 24, 2008. The ceremony was at St. James Catholic Church where Veronica and her bridesmaids were kept waiting outside the church (where there were no bathroom facilities) before their entrance. Before the hour-long wedding mass was over, the bride was in need of such a facility. “I whispered my problem to my matron-of-honor, Chris’ sister Amber, and she said, ‘no, you can’t leave your own wedding,’” Romano recalls. “As soon as the final amen was said, I ran down the aisle and tried to get into the school, but
it was locked. I found a bathroom inside the church cry room that my dress would barely fit into.”
Avery and Rodney Booth were married on October 17, 2015 at the Biloxi Visitors Center. If you’re familiar with the Visitors Center, you’ll recall that the main building is separated from the covered gazebo by
a large parking lot. The Booth wedding took place under the gazebo (and nearly didn’t) when the Maid of Honor realized she forgot the groom’s ring upstairs inside
down in something on the floor”
