soft gray with lots of coral accents, which Amy says she’s “updated through the years.” These colors are re ected in the family room with a club chair covered in a
coral print. Each son has a side of the tree in this room where their childhood ornaments are displayed.
Family mementos and collections are featured throughout the home, including a collection of angels and an angel tree. The Lladro angels hold pride of place on the co ee table where lights make them glow. There are several treasured nativity scenes – one made by Chuck’s grandmother that’s the rst
thing to come out each year, one purchased in Italy by his parents, one that was a gift from Amy’s parents, and one by the late local artist Tasewell Morton. Also special are the button ornaments made by Jan Hutchinson.
The Woods’ kitchen makes children of all ages smile with candy, candy and more candy.
All the traditional sweets are represented in the colorful display. “I love candy and Chuck does the candy display,” Amy said.
It’s easy to see that the kitchen is gorgeous even without the
Christmas colors. The light gray walls and dark gray cabinets and plenty of natural light make it a cook’s dream. There’s a big center island and a bay window with a window seat and bird print cushion and colorful pillows. An armoire from Chuck’s side of the family has been out tted with glass doors. During the holidays it features a peppermint candy wreath and
a sparkling swag. An old door over a bench is used as a bulletin board to keep track of dates and appointments.
The kitchen’s piece de resistance is the round treat table covered with burlap and dressed with
a mirror and striped holiday fabric. Tiered serving dishes hold many taste tempting treats while overhead a chandelier also looks good enough to eat with candy striped ornaments.
The screened back porch is not left out of holiday decorating with its old fashioned colored tree lights interspersed with green garlands.
As a parting thought, Amy adds, “We have a big attic to hold all these decorations.” The Woods clearly enjoy the holidays and making their home shine.
