comedian and gourmand Jackie Gleason once said when perusing a restaurant’s menu, “I don’t think you will find anything to complain about.” The food is spot on, and you will enjoy the diversity the chef at Lola Fleur employs. Don’t be surprised
to find dishes with Indian influence, or a touch of Asian,
as well as classic takes on Creole and Southern traditions.
Over the course of several visits I found three killer dips in the cold case; pimento and cheese; smoked tuna; chicken salad; a great filet of beef with a twice baked potato; banana stuffed crêpes; roasted salmon on a bed of kale with almonds and dried cranberries; mac and cheese
that was world class; and much, much more.
To make things even better, Lola Fleur is also a first-rate caterer. All this goodness can be transported to almost any event you’ve got planned. Go by and talk to the chef for details.
Lola Fleur may march to a different tune, in a restaurant sort of way, but it’s a tune
you might be humming soon. “Locally sourced, seasonal ingredients,” is their motto, and it’s well deserved. However, it would make good sense to add to that motto “and just plain good.”
One last observation: the chef at Lola Fleur has a serious knack for sweets and there is always
a nice selection. Expect cookies, fudge, small cakes, cupcakes, tarts, all imaginatively prepared and delicious.
TOP: PERFECTLY COOKED beef with green beans. BOTTOM: CLASSIC pimento and cheese.
