The romance might be for show, but the music... well that’s authentic.
Just ask Madi Cooper, a Pascagoula native with two songs featured on the Netflix reality television series Love Is Blind. Her songs “Trapped” and “Tell’Em” premiered on episodes that aired in the U.S. and Brazil.
“It was super surreal to be on Netflix,” Cooper said. “When we heard it for the first time, we were all jumping up and down the whole time it played.”
Cooper’s producer and friend, Kara Greskovic, was first contacted by the music company BMG which led to Big Story Music and eventually Love is Blind. “It’s really popular,” Cooper said. “It’s like the U.K.’s version of General Hospital.” Her most recent release, “Deja Vu,” hit the digital airwaves last month. Currently racking up streaming and digital successes are “Pain” with hundreds of thousands of streams and “Peace,” which is quickly closing in with growing streaming numbers.
“I’m super excited about the release of ‘Deja Vu,’” she said. “‘Pain’ popped off at 200k. That number is super crazy. I’m just excited to see what else happens at this point.”
Her discography also includes singles and EPs “Honey,” “React,” “Goodbye,” “Flower Tattoo,” and “City Air.”
Cooper has had a microphone in her hand since her highchair days. As a teenager,
