The ‘60s saw a rise in the popularity of muscle cars, with factory hot rods making their way across the streets of America. Chevy’s big-block engine was being ne tuned by many, including Dale, adding fuel to the re.
For Dale, building fast cars was more of a lifestyle than a hobby. Most of the racing happened on the streets back in the ‘70s and
‘80s, later moving to the racetrack with an occasional midnight trip to the state line for some hand- dropping street racing. It would
be an understatement to say that Dale Poole was the king of the streets in his 1969 Big Block Corvette – he was more like a god.
By the time his son Shannon Poole was born, Dale was waist deep into building cars, and it was only natural for Shannon to have
High Octane race fuel pumping through his veins. Shannon started racing and building cars long before having his driver’s license and be became obsessed with going fast. He started in a ‘82 Camaro that Shannon and Dale built from the ground up. The mission for the build was simple: go fast. Go fast they did, and it only got faster from there.
