SCAVENGER HUNT 2020

This year’s event is not the usual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk. Instead of walking, participants will ride on a Hunt for a Cure Scavenger Hunt on October 17. Organizers say the fund drive is a city-wide scavenger hunt with pink stops along the way. Maps highlighting the Pink Pit Stops may be picked up and funds turned in at the starting point, the Biloxi Town Green, between 8 and 10 a.m. Breast cancer survivors will receive swag bags. Participants will visit all 10 stops at their pace and then go to the nish line at MGM Park parking lot between 1 and 3 p.m.
Chairman Denise Landry, a 13-year breast cancer survivor, encourages participants
to wear pink and decorate their cars as they hunt through the city for the Pink Pit Stops. There will be prizes and participants’ returned maps will be put into a ra e for a prize pack.
Landry stresses that everyone be diligent, “Make sure you do your self-exams and mammograms. Since there is no way to prevent breast cancer, early detection is key.”
From October 19 until November 31, the American Cancer Society will also host the Hunt for a Cure Virtual Walk/Run presented by Keesler Federal Credit Union. Participants can register and walk or run in support of the Making Strides Walk.
