COAST NOTE
The COVID pandemic is putting a kink in the way non-pro t organizations hold fund raising events. Organizers
of Coast Episcopal School’s Toast to the Coast are facing this challenge creatively by re-naming it Toast to Go and making it a drive-through event on October 16. The event items will be picked up between 3 and 6 p.m. at the school. “It will be a fun drive-through event where guests will pick up several surprise items as well as a party starter kit containing delicious treats and wine to take home,” says event co-chair Anna Liese. “We’re encouraging people to gather in small groups that evening to keep things festive, and we also hope they will bid on

“Gulf Coast chefs and restaurants have supported Toast to the Coast for decades and this year we want to support them as much as possible,” co-chair Amanda Wood said of the 37th annual fundraiser. “We are planning to publish a special program to distribute to all our guests to highlight our wonderful restaurants and encourage everyone to support them during these challenging times.”
The virtual live-stream auction will be on the website www.thetoasttothecoast.com.

Deanna said that experience with
Chyanne inspired her to return to school to receive a nursing degree. And now Chyanne inspires others. A Girl Scout, she not only plays sports but also takes honors math, sings in the choir and plays the clarinet. You can too!, she tells peers at camps for children with diabetes and their families. To thank the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi for their support throughout the years, the Salters plan to participate in Mississippi’s Virtual Walk for Diabetes to be held October 1-31, 2020.
