COASTNOTES
story by Lynn Lofton
It’s time for Toast to the Coast benefitting Coast
Episcopal School, and this year’s event — the 35th —will take attendees back to Havana. October 19 is the date with festivities beginning at 7 p.m. at 635 East Scenic Drive in Pass Christian. There will be an open bar, food from more than 30 restaurants, live and silent auctions and dancing to the music of D Play until 1 a.m.
“Not only is this the Coast’s premier event, Toast to the Coast strives to support and showcase our community,” said Melissa Brown, the school’s director of development. “Ten percent of our corporate sponsorships go to our scholarship fund. We also host a Coast-wide children’s juried art show that is on display at the event.”
Brown stresses that anyone who can not attend the event, may still show their support with the mobile bidding feature. “You can bid on the many wonderful and unique silent auction items from anywhere in the world, Havana even!” she said. “The auction will open one week before the event.”

Tickets are $50 and can be purchased by phone or online. The dress is casual, but attendees are encouraged to wear a pink accent, such as a shirt, tie, shoes or accessory.
“Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort is committed to serving our community,” says CEO LuAnn Pappas. “Pink Pearls to Save the Girls is just one example of how we try
to meet the needs of the area, and we look forward to joining together in the fight against breast cancer.”
