Show support for the Go Red For Women movement and enjoy a fun night out at “A Night in Red” girls’ night out event on November 16, 6-9 p.m., at the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center. Co- chairs are Stephanie Shaw and Michele Clarke.

The event will educate women on the importance
of their own heart health and the role they can play in helping reduce cardiovascular disease and stroke in their homes, places of business and communities. There will also be glitz, glam, pampering, food/ beverages, music, exhibit booths, and a fashion show highlighting local survivors.
Go Red For Women is the American Heart Association’s nationwide movement to raise awareness of heart disease in women. Go Red celebrates the energy, passion, and power that we have to band together and wipe out heart disease and stroke, the number 1 and number 5 killers of both women and men in America.

Supporting Making Strides Walk

In its second year, twenty prominent area men are taking a stand against breast cancer by supporting the American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk through participation in the
Real Men Wear Pink campaign. They will conduct fundraising and awareness efforts for the Making Strides walk that takes place October 21, at 9 a.m., at the Biloxi Town Green.
Each Ambassador commits to raising a minimum of $2,500.00 and agrees to wear pink every day in October. Eight of last years’ Ambassadors are returning and 12 new men are joining them.
This year’s Ambassadors include John Carter, J.
