RoofTop Taco & Tequila Bar, a new cantina-style eatery that will soon debut its Dia de Muertos themed mural on Washington Street; Mad Genius, a creative fusion brand strategy, web development, design and advertising agency; an expansion at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art; and continued growth on Porter Avenue.
“We have seen a bump in the growth of new businesses opening around town,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Cynthia Dobbs Sutton. “We know that each of them will be a great addition to our
city. The arts are always at the forefront, and we are especially enthusiastic about the expansion taking place at the Walter Anderson Museum of Art and the addition of the mural on the RoofTop building. We hope to see other art projects join Downtown in the future.”
Of course all of the new development taking place in Ocean Springs has to fit with the city’s artsy, downtown vibe, and that’s where beautification comes in. “We
are partnering with the Ocean Springs Garden Club to highlight the gardens we currently have and add visual interest to our community,” Sutton said. “It’s proven that public spaces with vibrant colors and a fresh feel, such as those with beautiful flowers and greenery, attract both potential residents and tourists. We are very excited to be partnering with the Garden Club to showcase the beauty of Ocean Springs.”
Each facet of Downtown Ocean Springs, from
the businesses to its grounds and art community, is equally important in sustaining the city’s strong sense of community. Thanks to the combined efforts of
city leaders, the Chamber of Commerce, businesses, residents, and local organizations, Ocean Springs will continue to flourish in 2020.
