The gate swings open, and the world narrows to eight furious seconds. A rider explodes into the arena, boots locked, hat low, adrenaline burning through the roar of the crowd. Dust lifts, the scoreboard sparks to life, and the celebration kicks off with a triumphant fist in the air.
There’s no feeling like it. And no organization celebrates that feeling quite like the Professional Cowboy Association (PCA).
Founded in 1994, PCA has spent 31 years championing the sport of rodeo with a mission rooted in heritage and the kind of grit you can’t fake. It began with Bo Campbell—a man who ran the association old-school-style, kept things close to the vest, and built a community that felt more like kin. Following his passing in 2021, his son, Will Campbell, stepped in as CEO, working shoulder-to-shoulder with his sister, Executive Producer Kadee Campbell-Cook. Together, the duo is leading PCA into its next chapter as a true second- generation operation.
“Rodeo is family,” Campbell-Cook said. “Thirty weekends a year, we’re together in the dirt, in the dust, in the moments that matter. It’s a community that becomes your home.”

And that spirit of closeness extends far beyond the Campbells. PCA stands out as one of the very few non-profit rodeo associations in the Southeast—possibly the only one. As a nonprofit, 100 percent of the proceeds circle back to the cowboys and cowgirls. It was created to give riders a place to chase dreams, earn real money, and build a future in the sport they love. later, that purpose hasn’t wavered.
“This association was built so cowboys could make their dreams happen and actually make a living doing what they love,” Campbell-Cook explained. “Every decision we make still comes from that same place.”
